MARTIAL ARTS: Thomas Ruggeri of Palm Harbor recently finished first in the 9-10-year-old brown and red division in the national AAU tae kwon do tournament in Detroit.

Ruggeri also finished second earlier this year in the state AAU tournament, which qualified him to go to the Junior Olympics in Norfolk, Va., next month.
