NEXT SCHEDULED APPEARANCE: Friday vs. Pittsburgh.

THE SKINNY: There's no other way to put it -- Hampton is struggling big time. The normally consistent pitcher has lost six of his last seven decisions and didn't look good in any of the defeats. Since mid-June, Hampton's ERA has risen from 3.76 to 4.97 and he has allowed 34 earned runs in his past 341/3 innings.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: Dodger Stadium "plays different here during the day, but that doesn't really matter. I made quite a few mistakes up in the zone, and they hit the ball hard. Of course, I wanted to stay in and pitch. I was trying to get something accomplished, but it was one of those days that was basically lost. I couldn't make adjustments," Hampton told the Denver Post.
