Volleyball

Any Plant students interested in playing this season should pick up the necessary paperwork at the main office from the athletic director's secretary.

The paperwork must be completed and returned by Friday. The first day of practice is from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 6 at the school.

Miscellaneous

An informational meeting for Brandon High students interested in participating in cross country, volleyball, swimming and golf will be held tonight at 6:30 in the gymnasium.

Parents are requested to attend.

Physical and parental permission packets will be available at the meeting or at the school's main office daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Practices begin Aug. 6, except for swimming, which begins Aug. 7 at Brandon Swim and Tennis Club.

Golf

The Tampa YMCA Urban Junior Golf First Tee program is looking for volunteers. High school students, who must be at least 16, can credit their volunteer hours toward service requirements.

The 2001 Summer Golf Series will benefit patient services programs.

Tournaments will be a two-person scramble format at Countryway Golf Club, 11111 Waters Ave., Tampa. Entry fee includes lunch, drinks, prizes and awards. Tournaments are scheduled for Aug. 9 and Sept. 13.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Cost is $40 per person.

Hole sponsorships are available for $125 for the series.
