In the spirit of CBS' Survivor series, the Times is asking Bucs players and coaches whom they would throw off the island, er, out of camp, and why. Here's today's episode:

C Kevin Dogins says he would throw off T DeMarcus Curry: "DeMarcus has gotta go. He's got stinky feet. ... Man, it's bad, real bad."

Did you know?

While playing right guard for the Tennessee Volunteers, rookie offensive tackle Cosey Coleman (6-4, 322) did not allow a sack in his junior year.

Fresh faces

NAME: Daniel Jones.

HT./WT.: 5-10; 185.

COLLEGE: Utah.

POSITION: Receiver.

NFL EXPERIENCE: First year.

CAREER HIGHLIGHT: Jones spent part of 1999 on the Rams practice squad, but his first real taste of professional action came in NFL Europe. As a receiver for Rhein and Barcelona, he had 12 receptions for 157 yards and one touchdown.

GLORY DAYS: Jones earned first-team all-WAC honors for the Utes and finished his career with 98 receptions for 1,435 yards and nine touchdowns. His most memorable game was a heartbreaking loss to rival BYU. Jones returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown to pull Utah within two late in the fourth quarter. After a defensive stand, he had a 43-yard reception to give Utah a first down at the BYU 23. But Jones celebrated with a dance and was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Utes eventually got back into field-goal range but missed a chip shot.

BRUSH WITH GREATNESS: Jones, not particularly enamored with celebrities, saw one of his favorite athletes help Chicago beat the Utah Jazz for a sixth NBA championship: former Bulls forward Dennis Rodman.

TO MAKE THE TEAM: Jones has to distinguish himself from the other free-agent receivers and join the legitimate list of hopefuls.

QUOTE: "I'm not a guy like Keyshawn Johnson or Jacquez Green where I'm making all the money, so I'm gonna have to do something extra to make this team. Obviously, it has to be on special teams."

Quotable

"Les has got that military style of coaching, so if they don't get it, he's going to be beat it into their heads. It should all work out in the end."

-- WARREN SAPP, DT on offensive coordinator Les Steckel
