FOOTBALL: Ryan Wyatt of Palm Harbor U. signed to play with The Citadel. Wyatt played defensive tackle and defensive end last season and was the team's defensive lineman of the year.

SOCCER: The Tampa Bay Extreme of the women's W-League has signed St. Petersburg High defender Brittney Lewis.

Lewis, 16, captained the Green Devils last season and led St. Petersburg to the Pinellas County Athletic Conference final.

SOFTBALL: The Freedom Spirit, a 65-and-over women's team based in St. Petersburg, recently won the national championship in the Senior Games in Baton Rouge, La.

The Freedom Spirit defeated the Michigan Belles 4-1 to complete a 5-0 record in round-robin play.
