Two-year-old dies after being pulled from hot tub
TAMPA -- A 2-year-old who was found unconscious Friday afternoon in his family's hot tub died Saturday at 6:15 p.m. in All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg.
Hayden Gilliam of 3804 Castle Key Lane in Brandon was pulled from the hot tub at 4:20 p.m. after his mother found him. He had wandered away from his older brother and sister while their mother was vacuuming.
He was taken first to Brandon Regional Medical Center, then transferred Friday night to All Children's.
TAMPA -- A 50-year-old Tampa woman was killed early Saturday when she slammed into a tow truck removing a car from a ditch along Interbay Boulevard, police said.
Nannette Sierra Clark of 2916 Trudy Lane was heading east along the 7000 block of Interbay about 1:20 a.m. and didn't see the tow truck stopped in the road. She ran into the flatbed at about 50 mph, police said.
The tow truck driver was not hurt.
The 19-year-old victim of a hit-and-run crash died at 2:15 a.m. Saturday at Tampa General Hospital. Stacy Lee Urbina of 12941 Simpson Road in Dover was struck early Friday morning while riding a bicycle along McIntosh Road, said Hillsborough sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee that hit him, 42-year-old Ann Baron of Valrico, has been charged with DUI involving serious injury and leaving the scene of a crash with serious injuries. Carter said no decision will be made on further charges until Monday.
