Man held on charges of sexually abusing boyBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published August 6, 2000 BROOKSVILLE -- A Spring Hill man has been charged with seven counts of sexual battery upon a person less than 12 years old ina series of encounters that allegedly occurred from October to March. George Rodriguez, 45, whose last known address was 420 Hallcrest Ave. in Spring Hill, was arrested Friday by a detective from the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, according to a warrant. He is not the same George Rodriguez who is a former Hernando County deputy building official. According to the warrant, the encounters involved oral sex with a boy who was 11 years old at the time. Circuit Judge Jack Springstead initially set no bond for Rodriguez, meaning that he would have to stay in jail until trial. However, Rodriguez was due to appear before a judge with the power to set a bond amount that could eventually allow for his release. © St. Petersburg Times. All rights reserved. |
