Man dies after truck strikes utility pole, flips

TAMPA -- A 29-year-old Valrico man died late Friday after his truck struck a utility pole in the 4300 block of E Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Police said Derek E. Oliver of 313 Chardonnay Place died at the scene after his 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier hit the pole about 11:55 p.m., then struck a tree and flipped.
There were no passengers.
