Tampa's PYT edges toward fame

PYT, the girl group from Tampa, is one step closer to the big time. The group recently went to Los Angeles to make its first music video and has just signed on to tour with Britney Spears (this makes the second time PYT has hooked up with her). PYT's leg of the tour starts Aug. 28 and ends Sept. 18. PYT's debut album is due in stores this fall.

Party in Dunedin with Radio Disney

Radio Disney (WWMI-AM 1380) is having a kids' night out Tuesday at the Dunedin Beef O'Brady's, 1527 Main St. From 6 to 7 p.m. kids can eat free, dance, play games and spin the prize wheel. Call the radio station at (727) 577-4500 for more information.

On 'Tour' with Blaque

This month's 2 Hour Tour on the Disney Channel focuses on the group Blaque. The group held auditions in Atlanta where it selected JenNic to be its opening act and to accompany the trio around the city and learn about the music business. 2 Hour Tour: Blaque premieres Saturday at 9:05 p.m.

Usher takes a seat

Usher is taking a break from recording to recover from exhaustion and dehydration, according to his manager. The 21-year-old singer-actor was recently hospitalized after passing out in the recording studio. Usher's 1997 album My Way had two No. 1 singles and a Grammy nomination.
