Marina Williams, a senior at the Center for Advanced Technologies at Lakewood High School, was installed as president of the school's National Honor Society for 2001-2002. The society's goals are academic excellence and community service.

Williams is the daughter of Becky and Kenneth Williams of St. Petersburg.

Amy Atkins, daughter of Holly and Steve Atkins of St. Pete Beach, was featured in the June and July recitals of Mattioli Music Studios at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. She won the Ruby Noble Memorial Award, the studio's highest honor, for outstanding achievement throughout the year.

A piano student for five years, she has received superior ratings at Florida Music Teachers Guild festivals.

Atkins, 15, is a sophomore in the International Baccalaureate program at St. Petersburg High School.
