Miracle's 13-point rally beats Rockers
ORLANDO -- Nykesha Sales had 11 of her 14 points in the second half as the Miracle rallied to beat Cleveland 74-67 Tuesday.
Elaine Powell and Katie Douglas each scored 16 as the Miracle prevented Cleveland from clinching the Eastern Conference regular-season title.
Merlakia Jones led Cleveland with 20 points.
Penny Taylor's 3-pointer with 9:25 remaining gave the Rockers a 50-43 lead.
Orlando countered with a 15-2 run. Sales, who already had six straight points, initiated the outburst with driving layup and then converted a free throw that resulted from a technical foul.
The win helped Orlando avoid a season sweep by Cleveland.
Orlando coach Carolyn Peck and assistant Michael Peck were ejected in the second half.
SACRAMENTO 76, MINNESOTA 59: Yolanda Griffith scored 27 and had 11 rebounds as host Sacramento avenged an Sunday's 79-76 overtime loss in Minnesota.
UTAH 76, DETROIT 69: Natalie Williams had 26 points and 14 rebounds and visiting Utah extended its franchise-record winning streak to eight games.
BULLS: Restricted free-agent forward Eddie Robinson, who played his first two seasons with Charlotte, signed. Last month, Robinson signed a five-year, $30-million offer sheet.
CAVALIERS: Jeff Austin, the agent for Bryant Stith, said his client has "made a deal" and will sign a contract later this week. Austin declined to discuss terms, but the Akron Beacon Journal reported the 6-5 Stith will sign a two-year deal worth $2.73-million.
LAKERS: Ronnie Lester, a scout for the past 14 years, was promoted to assistant general manager.
MAVERICKS: Free-agent center Evan Eschmeyer signed a six-year, $20-million contract, his agent Mark Bartelstein said.
NUGGETS: Former player Kiki Vandeweghe is close to signing as general manager.
ROCKETS: Forward Maurice Taylor signed. The team would not disclose terms, but according to several reports it was a six-year deal worth $48-million.
TIMBERWOLVES: Forward Sam Mitchell re-signed.
