The Forest Hills Mustangs have spent the past week in Texas, going undefeated against teams from all over the place.

That streak ended Wednesday in Irving for the first round of the PONY baseball World Series (ages 10 and under), when Puerto Rico defeated Forest Hills 10-7.

The loss ended the north Tampa team's unbeaten string at 13.

Forest Hills went up 4-0 after the first inning on a two-run homer by Jake Lowe and a run-scoring single by Joe Hudson.

The lead was extended to 6-1 after three innings, before Puerto Rico mounted its comeback, taking advantage of Forest Hills errors and getting timely hitting.

Puerto Rico went ahead 7-6 in the fifth inning and extended its lead to 10-6 before Forest Hills made a final run in its last at-bat.

Forest Hills pushed across one run and had the bases loaded, but the game ended on a strikeout.

Forest Hills plays tonight at 8:30 in the second round of pool play. A loss would all but end any chance of Forest Hills winning the World Series title.
