TODAY: Hudson-based rock band Harry Dash will headline the Back-to-School night for students at Bourbon Street Concert Club, 4331 U.S. 19, New Port Richey. The evening starts at 8 p.m. with alternative rock band Conduit, of Ridgewood High School, followed at 9 p.m. by Blame It on George, of River Ridge High School. Harry Dash will perform at 10 p.m., followed at 11:30 p.m. by the rock band Leroy Driver. Admission is $5.

TODAY-SUNDAY: The musical revue Taking My Turn will be presented by Stage West Community Playhouse and Playhouse 19 of Crystal River at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday at Stage West's theater, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. The 1983 Broadway show is based on essays written by senior citizens and addresses the issues facing people as they grow older. Some songs are humorous, others poignant. Admission is $12. TODAY-SUNDAY: The Citrus County Art League continues its sixth annual Shakespeare in the Hills festival at its theater, 2644 N Annapolis Ave., Beverly Hills (off Norvell Bryant Road north of Inverness). Othello performances are at 7:30 p.m. today and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. As You Like It will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets for a single show are $8 in advance, $9 at the door. WEDNESDAY: Artist Antonio Caparello will present slides of his artwork and talk about painting techniques at 7:30 p.m. at the Zone Art Lounge, 121 E Tarpon Ave., Tarpon Springs. This is the second in a four-part series of talks by performers and artists at the Zone. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. Future talks are by photographer Ric Savid on Aug. 22 and artist-storyteller Drew Willard on Aug. 29.

AUG. 17: The Centennial Opera Group will present the video of Guiseppi Verdi's Il Trovatore (The Troubador) at 12:30 p.m. at the Centennial Library, 5740 Moog Road, Holiday. The video features Luciano Pavarotti, Eva Marton, Dolora Zajick and Sherrill Milnes in the lead roles. Admission is free.

AUG. 18: The Florida Lyric Opera will present Lullaby of Broadway, with a cast of six at a luncheon show at Heritage Springs Country Club, 11345 Robert Trent Jones Parkway, New Port Richey. AUG. 18: The Hernando County Fine Arts Council will host Classical Elegance at Twilight at 6 p.m. at the Wellington at Seven Hills in Spring Hill. AUG. 19-20: The new Angel Cabaret Theatre in Southgate Shopping Center will hold auditions for musicals and plays for its upcoming season at 7 p.m. Aug. 19 for ages 7-15 years old and 7 p.m. Aug. 20 for adults. The auditions will be at the Studio of Performing Arts, Sunrise Plaza, 11720 U.S. 19, Port Richey. Those auditioning for musicals should bring a photo and resume, sheet music or CD or cassette (without vocal) and be prepared to dance and read from a script. All positions are paid. AUG. 24-25: The Hernando County Fine Arts Council will hold auditions for the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta The Mikado at 7 p.m. Aug. 24 and 1:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at Springstead High School Theater, 3300 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill.
