COURTHOUSE MUSEUM: Yesterday's Tomorrows, a traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution, will be at the Historic Citrus County Courthouse Museum, Inverness, through Saturday. Museum and store are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Call 341-6436.

CURTAIN CALLS

AUDITIONS: Gulf Islands Civic Theatre will have auditions at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 21 through 23 at the Cash Carpet building, 776 N Enterprise Point, Lecanto, on State Road 44 next to Stokes Flea Market. The play is Blood Ties, a comedy, directed by Joyce Reynolds-Funtig. Show opens on Oct. 19 at the Citrus County Auditorium. Call Jeri Augustine, 795-3077.

AUDITIONS: Susan Robinson, music director and conductor of the Central Florida Master Choir has announced openings in all voice parts for the Central Florida Master Choir for the upcoming program year. Auditions will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 28 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church on State Road 200, Ocala. Prospective members must be able to read music. For a specific audition time call Robinson at (352) 873-4347, e-mail at srobinson@mfi.net or just show up at 7 p.m. Bring a prepared piece to sing. Accompaniment will be provided. If unable to attend, contact Robinson for another date. The choir rehearses from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Queen of Peace Church in Ocala.

MEDIEVAL TIMES: Weeki Wachee Spring and the Association for Medieval Weaponry and Self Defense will hold a Renaissance/Fantasy festival at Weeki Wachee Spring on Aug. 17, 18 and 19 at Weeki Wachee Spring. Activities include food, vendors, weapons fighting five times per day, and a "thieves trail". Local high schools and heritage clubs will portray villagers. Regular admission prices apply. WINE TASTING: The Citrus County Historical Society will host a wine tasting from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Historic Citrus County Courthouse. Tickets are $25 and are available at the Historical Society office at the Old Courthouse from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays or at Citrus Liquors, 712 U.S. 41 S, Inverness. CRAFT COUNCIL SHOW: The Citrus County Crafts Council will hold its annual Harvest Moon Craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 1 at the National Guard Armory in Crystal River. Show features about 60 crafters displaying their works. Show also includes a bake sale and refreshments, along with free parking and admission. It is also a fundraiser for Hospice of Citrus County. APPLETON EXHIBIT: "Once in Our Lifetime" a major exhibit of 19th century art, will be Sept. 8 through Dec. 6 at Appleton Museum of Art, 4337 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. Important works from Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Paul Cezanne, Vincent van Gogh and others will be featured. Museum hours are daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Docent-led tours at 1:15 p.m. weekdays. Admission $6 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students 18 and older; students under 18 free. A similar exhibit of 20th century masters, featuring two works by Pablo Picasso, is scheduled for February through April. Call (352) 236-7100.

LABOR DAY: The Italian Social Club of Citrus County on County Road 486 will be open from 1-6 p.m on Sept. 2 for Labor Day. There will be an All-You-Can-Eat Party. Chicken, sausage and peppers, hot dogs, hamburgers, beans, salad, beer and soda will be served. Roger Carrier and his karaoke machine will provide music. Tickets are $7.50. SCARECROW FEST: The 14th annual Scarecrow Festival will be Oct. 26-28 in downtown Crystal River. Events include a children's carnival, fine arts and crafts, antiques and educational exhibits.
