Man charged with hitting store manager

CARROLLWOOD -- Matthew Smith of Lutz was arrested Monday night about 9 p.m. after he hit a Kash n' Karry manager while trying to flee with stolen items, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Smith, 17942 Simmons Road, was spotted stuffing his pockets. When the manager tried to stop him from leaving, Smith, 19, punched him in the face. Employees at the store at 15692 N Dale Mabry Highway restrained him until deputies arrived. Smith was charged with strong arm robbery.

Argument leads to stabbing, arrest

NORTHDALE -- A 47-year-old Northdale woman was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated assault. Deputies said she stabbed her husband in the left forearm during an argument at 2 a.m. Maria Wylie, 47, 16930 Le Clare Shores Drive, drove her husband, 62-year-old Richard Wylie, to University Community Hospital in Carrollwood for treatment.

Apartment complex gym is burglarized

CARROLLWOOD -- One or more suspects broke into a locked gym at the Preserve Apartments at 12349 W Linebaugh Ave. between 6 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday, stealing a paper towel dispenser and a bathroom doorknob valued at $100, deputies said.
