Rupe (4-9, 6.68) returns to the rotation after skipping a start in Chicago. The right-hander is 0-4 with a 6.64 ERA since he won on June 14, a span of eight starts

Brad Thomas

Thomas (0-1, 9.45) was recalled from Double-A New Britain on Wednesday and starts in place of Brad Radke, who went on the 15-day disabled list with a bruised thumb.
