Two injured when gun is fired during store robberyBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published August 12, 2000 TAMPA -- The owners of a store at 12201 N Florida Ave. were injured Friday night when a gun was fired during a robbery. One of the owners was shot in the leg, possibly by a bullet that ricocheted off the floor, said Hillsborough sheriff's spokesman Rod Reder. She was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where she was in good condition Friday night. The other owner was grazed by a bullet fragment but did not need hospitalization. Reder said two robbers entered the Value Market about 8:20 p.m. and fired several rounds into the floor to scare the owners and the clerk. The robbers fled in a van that was stopped about 45 minutes later at 102nd Avenue and Florida Avenue. Four men in the van were being questioned late Friday. © St. Petersburg Times.
