Student services dean assumes duties at PHCC
By Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published August 12, 2000 NEW PORT RICHEY -- Alfonsa James took over Monday as Pasco Hernando Community College dean of student services, ending a nearly six-month vacancy at the school, spokeswoman Lynn Rothman said. James had served in the same position at Chipola Junior College in Marianna for the past 12 years, Rothman said. Prior to that he had worked as a counselor, basketball coach and athletic director at the school now known as North Florida Community College. James replaces Hank Dunn, who left Feb. 23 to start his own business in Ocala, Rothman said. James' position includes oversight of financial aid, veterans' services, admissions, student records, athletics, student activities, career assessment and testing and senior citizen programs. © St. Petersburg Times.
