SUMMER MUSIC SERIES: Critically acclaimed pianist Ning An performs at 2 p.m. at the Museum of Fine Arts, 255 Beach Drive NE, St. Petersburg. The program includes Beethoven's Eroica Variations (Op. 35), Chopin andante Spianato and Grand Polinaise, Rachmaninov 2 Preludes (Op. 32) and Liszt Dante Sonata. GOSPEL CONCERT: The multigenerational Mighty Sons of Zion celebrate their 42nd anniversary with a concert at 6:30 p.m. at Bethel Metropolitan Baptist Church, 3455 26th Ave. S, St. Petersburg. The professional recording artists organized locally in 1959, with descendants and other professional musicians still carrying on the tradition. Three of the original members are still active. SURREALISTIC CINEMA: The Salvador Dali Museum, 1000 Third St. S, St. Petersburg, shows the outrageous dark comedy/fantasy Being John Malkovich at 6 p.m. Directed by Spike Jonze and starring John Cusack and Cameron Diaz, the story follows a street puppeteer who discovers a portal into the mind of John Malkovich. FRIDAY

NEW VISIONS PRODUCTION: American Stage, 211 Third St. S, St. Petersburg, presents Darkfall by David Davalos at 8 p.m. Audiences and theater management chose the work from among eight readings to receive a full-scale production. The relationship between good and evil is explored with corporate America as the backdrop to a cosmic battle for the universe. Today through Sept. 2.
