Miami extends streak, beats Orlando 75-64
ORLANDO -- Elena Baranova scored 19 and Debbie Black added 15 points and six steals as the Miami Sol beat the Miracle 75-64 on Saturday night.
Sheri Sam also had 15 points and five assists for Miami, which has won five games in a row to move into position for the No. 2 spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Miami won despite setting a WNBA record for fewest rebounds in one game with 13, one fewer than New York had at Charlotte on July 30, 1999.
Shannon Johnson led Orlando with 16 points.
CHARLOTTE 80, NEW YORK 60: The Sting continued its midseason turnaround, beating the Liberty for consecutive wins against the top two teams in the Eastern Conference.
The Sting, which beat division-leading Cleveland 55-53 on Friday, tied a franchise record with its sixth win in a row and set a mark with its seventh consecutive home win.
Charlotte, which started the season 1-10, improved to 17-14 -- a WNBA record for the biggest turnaround in a season.
LOS ANGELES 65, HOUSTON 54: Mwadi Mabika scored 22 as the Sparks extended their record winning streak to 18.
DeLisha Milton added 11 and Ukari Figgs had 10 for the Sparks (27-3). Lisa Leslie, limited to 23 minutes because of foul trouble, scored seven -- matching her season low.
The victory also extended Los Angeles' record home winning streak to 22 games across two seasons.
MINNESOTA 65, PORTLAND 51: Katie Smith scored 22 points and broke the single-season scoring record for visiting Minnesota.
Smith, who averages a league-best 23.2 points, has 697 points in 30 games. She moved past the record of 686, set by Houston's Cynthia Cooper in 1999.
