Senior attends statewide Youth Leadership Forum

Aysha Qamar, daughter of Jeanie and Melik Qamar of Pinellas Park, was among 40 delegates who joined state and community leaders in Tallahassee July 12-15 for Florida's second annual Youth Leadership Forum. The forum is a statewide leadership conference for high school juniors and seniors with disabilities.

During the four-day forum, Aysha attended workshops on self-advocacy, career options and leadership. She also participated in small group discussions and one-on-one sessions with government representatives.

A senior at Pinellas Park High School, Aysha volunteers for the Challenger Baseball Little League. She is a member of a career-based instruction training program and the Pinellas Park Art Society. She plans to attend a vocational school after graduation.
