Current movies recommended by the Times
1. Rat Race -- Surprisingly brisk all-star comedy about a cross-country fortune hunt. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad movie.
2. Planet of the Apes -- Tim Burton's version compares well to the original 1968 science fiction classic. The best action flick of the summer season, paws down.
3. Made -- Our favorite Swingers, Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau, are gangsters who can't shoot straight, or do anything else right, for that matter. Tampa Theatre only.
4. The Others -- Nicole Kidman sees dead people in a post-World War II ghost story without cheap shocks, but with plenty of creepy atmosphere.
5. Legally Blonde -- Want to see a star rising? Check out Reese Witherspoon's perfectly measured performance in a comedy that would be nothing without her.
