ST. PETERSBURG -- Tony Pigott stretched a single into a double and scored on a single by Jose Velazquez to give the Devil Rays a 4-3 victory over first-place Dunedin in 10 innings Thursday.

Pigott led off the first inning with a single and Pete LaForest homered.

The Rays scored their third run when Damian Rolls, who doubled, went to third on a passed ball and scored when catcher Tony Peters threw the ball into leftfield.

Dunedin scored two runs in the fifth on a double by Peters and tied the score in the eighth when Glenn Williams' sacrifice fly scored Reed Johnson.

SARASOTA 7, CLEARWATER 4: The Red Sox defeated the host Phillies as the teams combined from 25 hits. But Sarasota capitalized early and held on. Clearwater second baseman Jeff Terrell went 2-for-3, including a home run and two RBI.
