CITRUS PARK PUBLIX OPENS: The Publix in the Shoppes of Citrus Park opened it doors Thursday to shoppers. The supermarket at 7835 Gunn Highway will house Apron's Cooking School, which will feature cooking demonstrations presented by cookbook authors and local chefs. CLOTHING STORE OPENS: Burke's Outlet has set up shop in Sunset Plaza on U.S. 41 in Lutz. The store, owned by Beall's Inc., sells clothing, accessories, shoes, housewares, books and various gift items. The 10,000-square-foot store, which opened last month, replaced Video View Movies. Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. For information, call (813) 909-0790.

GIFT STORE OPENS: Swan's Gifts opened Thursday at the Shoppes of Citrus Park on Gunn Highway. The 1,400-square foot shop sells a variety of items from hat boxes to teapots to candles. It also carries brand names such as Yankee Candle, Blue Sky and San Francisco Music Box. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. SONNY'S CLOSED, FOR NOW: The Sonny's Real Pit Bar-B-Q at 3805 Northdale Blvd. in the Northdale shopping center closed its doors this month. A new Sonny's restaurant on N Dale Mabry Highway, just south of Northdale Boulevard, is now under construction.
