The PTA will meet at 7 p.m. while children are entertained by Shana Banana in the media center. Dinner, which includes spaghetti with meat sauce (or meatless), salad, bread and drink, is $4 for adults, $2.50 for children. Fifth-graders will be selling Italian ice for $1. PRIDE ELEMENTARY: Parents know they're in trouble when their children struggle with math homework that no one in the family understands. That's part of the reason the Pride Elementary PTA is hosting a math training event for parents Monday evening. Parents of about 70 students in four accelerated Math Academy classes are expected to be on hand for a presentation by Pride teachers and a district math resource teacher.

Pride's success with two classes last year paved the way for the school to expand the program this year to two Math Academy classes in grades 4 and 5, making Pride's program the largest non-magnet elementary school in the district. DISTRICT WORKSHOP ON CARROLLWOOD-AREA SCHOOL SITE: The Hillsborough County School District will hold a public information workshop for a proposed elementary school in northwest Hillsborough County. The proposed site is located north of Gardner Road, east of Sheldon Road, south of Gunn Highway and west of Henderson Road. The new school would help relieve crowding at Bellamy, Cannella, Crestwood and Essrig elementaries. The meeting will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Essrig Elementary, 13131 Lynn Turner Road.
