Clearwater grocery manager's 15 minutes of fame

He's not the centerfold, but thousands of readers across the country will see the smiling manager of a Clearwater Publix in magazine ads.
Tony Boyd is the first Pinellas County manager featured in the grocery chain's Great Company ad campaign. The company began running the ads last year to promote the work that its associates do, between the aisles and in the community.
Boyd started working in high school as a clerk and now manages the Publix in Island Village Shopping Center.
The ads will run in magazines including Southern Living, Fortune, Ebony, Essence, Black EnterpriseandFlorida Hispanic.
