    Kira J. Zschau, a 1997 graduate of Clearwater Central Catholic, graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor's degree in English. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and the Golden Key Honor Society. She received the Alpha Omicron Pi Women of Excellence Award and was listed in Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities. She was on the University of Mississippi Volleyball team, served as co-captain her senior year and was selected for the Southeastern Conference 2000 All-SEC Second Team. She is attending the University of Northern Alabama, where she works as a graduate assistant while pursuing her master's degree in English. Her parents are Julius J. and Leila J. Zschau of Dunedin.

    Scott John Kaskawitz, a 1997 graduate of Tarpon Springs High School, graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He's a product design engineer for Yamaha, Inc. in Atlanta. His parents are Stephen J. and Carol L. Kaskawitz of Tarpon Springs.

    Honors and Awards

    Tamara D. Carlson, of Palm Harbor, was recently inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She is a 1999 graduate of Berkeley Preparatory in Tampa, where she served on the yearbook staff and was a member of the swim team. She is currently attending the University of South Florida, where she is a member of Phi Eta Kappa national honor society and Eta Sigma Phi national honor society for students of Latin or Greek. Her parents are Rick and Doris Carlson of Palm Harbor.

    Anna C. Baskovsky and Heidi R. Rochester, of Largo, and Andrew D. Conway, of Clearwater, were awarded HCA foundation Scholarships. Each has a parent that works for Largo Medical Center, which is affiliated with the hospital management company HCA -- The Healthcare Co.

    Baskovsky is a 2000 graduate of Lakewood High School. She is a second year nursing student at St. Petersburg College. Her mother is Pamela Baskovsky.

    Rochester is a 2001 graduate of St. Petersburg High School. She plans to attend Tulane University. Her mother is Charlotte Rochester.

    Conway is a 2001 graduate of Largo High School. He plans to attend Trinity College of Florida to pursue a bachelor's degree in biblical studies. Her mother is Larren Marie Conway.
