She is attending pharmacy school at Mercer University, Atlanta. RecognitionMeg McNeill, daughter of Steve and Sue McNeill of St. Petersburg, participated in the 17th annual program for verbally and mathematically gifted youth at Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, Ky. She was one of 174 students from 14 states attending the three-week session. Meg is a 10th-grader at Canterbury School of Florida with an interest in psychology. Audrey Elizabeth Reitz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Reitz of Pinellas Park, has been named to the dean's list at Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, Birmingham, Ala. Amalea Hijar, daughter of Mary and J Hijar of St. Petersburg, has accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She will be recognized for her outstanding academic accomplishments at a ceremony this fall at Agnes Scott College, Decatur, Ga. ScholarshipsBreck Marie Pribyl, daughter of Jack and Christine Pribyl of St. Petersburg, received a $2,000 Phi Theta Kappa scholarship from Florida State University and a $2,000 interest-free loan from the American Business Women's Association. Additionally, she was nominated for inclusion in the 1999-2000 edition of the National Dean's List. Pribyl, a 1998 graduate of St. Petersburg High School, attends Florida State University on a Bright Futures merit scholarship. She is majoring in exercise science with an emphasis in pre-physical therapy. PromotionsLt. Ray Hansen, a 19-year-veteran of the Pinellas Park Fire Department, has been promoted to the rank of district fire chief in charge of training.
