Departures

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Alim D. Muhammad, son of Halimah W. Abdullah of St. Petersburg, has departed on a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf while assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS George Washington.

Completion of training

Pvt. Nicholas Roger Sorrell, son of Donald and Janet Sorrell of Pinellas Park, completed airborne training June 1 at Fort Benning, Ga. He has been a certified U.S. Army medical specialist since completion of training April 25 at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. Sorrell is a member of the 82nd Airborne Division stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Keith E. Daniels, son of Beverlee R. Blacker of St. Petersburg, recently participated in Exercise Dynamic Mix while on a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf. Daniels, a 1987 graduate of Seminole High School, is assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp.

Promotion

Marine Corps Cpl. John P. Wiseman, son of Sherry and Paul Hardin of St. Petersburg, and Paul and Rita Wiseman of Long Island, N.Y., was promoted to his present rank while serving at Camp Lejeune, N.C. He lives with his wife, Whisper.
