COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES REPRESENTATIVE: Gov. Jeb Bush has appointed Robert O. Hastings to the Central Florida Community College Board of Trustees as a representative from Levy County. He replaces Penny Lofton, whose term expired in May. Hastings has worked for the Levy County School Board since 1981. Currently, he is the principal of Chiefland High School, having served previously as principal at Williston High School for four years and principal at Cedar Key School for six years. He also served as administrator for Bronson Middle School and taught at Chiefland and Bronson high schools. A graduate of Manatee High School in Bradenton, Hastings earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Middle Tennessee State University and a master's degree in administration and supervision from Nova Southeastern University.
