Nine lives and then some

It's back. Cats closed its record-breaking 18-year engagement on Broadway last September, and the long-running road company shut down around the same time. Now a new feline follies is on the road, coming to the Tampa Bay area after a shakedown stint at Harrah's casino in Atlantic City. Already this production is booked for at least two years at halls around the country, and it is being projected to sell out the eight shows here. Maybe Cats really is now and forever.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's kitty cantata opens Tuesday and continues through Sept. 2 at Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. Tickets: $15.50-$54.50. (813) 229-7827 or toll-free at 1-800-955-1045.
