Roland Besimer, 21, was driving north on Weeping Willow Street about 11 p.m. Tuesday and stopped for a red Honda that was blocking the road, according to a Hernando County sheriff's report. After Besimer stopped, a white man jumped out of the Honda and forced his way into Besimer's car, he reported. Pointing a black semiautomatic pistol, the man told Besimer to "back up and drive." Besimer said the man directed him to woods, where the man left Besimer and took the 1990 silver Mazda he had been driving. Besimer told officials that he wandered in the woods until early Wednesday afternoon, when his girlfriend found him walking on Cortez Boulevard. Authorities had some questions about Besimer's story, however. Deputies noted that he was shirtless, but had no scratches or red marks from wandering in the woods for 15 hours. Deputies also noticed no tire tracks or footprints at the spot where Besimer said he was assaulted.
