EAST LAKE -- East Lake dominated Dunedin 27-3 in a preseason game Thursday.
On East Lake's first play from scrimmage, quarterback Mike Deatrick found Tyler Morton streaking down the middle for a touchdown.
"Everyone expects us to run up the middle on first down," East Lake coach Tom Keeler said. "We wanted to do something else. They forgot about Tyler, and it worked great."
Bret Hansen missed a 37-yard field goal on Dunedin's next possession. He made a 37-yarder later in the half.
However, Morton took the ensuing kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown.
The Eagles extended the lead to 20-7 on a 3-yard run by Deatrick.
Mike Wynn set up East Lake's final touchdown with a 78-yard run to the Falcon 6-yard line.
Senior running back Terry Woulard scored on the next play.
Wynn had 80 yards on two carries.
Dunedin's ground attack was led by DeJuan Graham, who had 51 yards, and Bryant Tisdale, who added 37.
"We are in great condition. We were able to wear them down near the end," Keeler said. "We are going to have to become a better first-quarter team in the future. We couldn't get a sustained drive in the first quarter.
"We got to see everything we needed to see tonight. Now we have to get ready for the real thing next week."
