ST. PETERSBURG -- An 18-year-old St. Petersburg man was shot to death Monday after an argument outside an apartment building.

Courtney Terrell Eubanks died at Bayfront Medical Center after the shooting at 6:05 p.m. near the Paradise apartments, 2185 16th Ave. S.

No one had been arrested late Monday.

"The victim was involved in some sort of confrontation," said Rick Stelljes, police spokesman. "It looks like some sort of long-standing dispute."

It is the city's 15th killing this year.

Eubanks, the father of a 2-year-old girl, was shot in the upper body, police said. Neighbors said they saw the bleeding Eubanks walk around the corner and fall down in front of 2151 Oakley Ave. S.

In June, Eubanks was arrested and charged with domestic battery on a pregnant woman. Prosecutors dropped the charge July 17.

A few weeks ago, he was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license. He pleaded guilty to that charge Thursday.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Detective Cindy Leedy at (727) 893-7613.
