Big fourth spurs Clearwater

CLEARWATER -- The Phillies scored four runs in the seventh inning and beat the Jupiter Hammerheads 8-5 Monday at Jack Russell Stadium.

Clearwater erased a 5-4 deficit with run-scoring singles from Bob Van Iten, Skip Kiil and Anderson Machado off Jupiter reliever Jorge Julio.

Phillies starter Franklin Nunez pitched seven innings and got his 10th win.

Scott Hodges led Jupiter with three RBI.

CHARLOTTE 5, DUNEDIN 3: The host Blue Jays committed three costly errors in the eighth inning, which resulted in three runs to cost them the game. The only bright spot offensively for the Blue Jays was centerfielder Garrick Haltiwanger, who went 2-for-4 including a double and a RBI.

TAMPA 9, KISSIMMEE 0: Everyone except centerfielder Billy Brown drove in a run for the visiting Yankees. Three pitchers combined for the shutout with Tuli Rangel getting the win.
