The annual Pioneer Days Festival always fills Labor Day weekend with sights and sounds of the past: sheep shearing, old-fashioned crafts, antiques, battle re-enactments, gospel music and more at the Pioneer Florida Museum near Dade City. This year the festivities expand, filling much of Saturday and Sunday as well. Highlights Saturday include a pancake breakfast, Wild West show, squaredancers, storytellers and arts and crafts. Sunday's activities include an all-day gospel sing and a 12:30 p.m. Civil War battle re-enactment.
The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday through Monday at the museum, 1 mile north of Dade City off U.S. 301 N. Admission is $6 adults, $2 kids 12 and under. For information, call (352) 567-0262.
