Summertime treat

In what has become a late summer highlight in recent years, violinist Ellen dePasquale returns to play at St. Petersburg's Museum of Fine Arts this weekend and next. DePasquale, former Florida Orchestra concertmaster, is now associate concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra.
On Sunday, she teams with a frequent partner on piano, Chadd Merrigan, to play works of Schubert, Beethoven, Ysaye and Faure. On Sept. 9, her program includes piano trios by Shostakovich, Mozart and Mendelssohn, with pianist Christina Dahl and cellist James Connors. The rapport between dePasquale and Connors is something to savor. The two performed together often when she was with the Florida Orchestra, for which Connors is principal cello.
Both concerts are at 2 p.m. Tickets: $7 and $15. (727) 896-2667.
