IT HAPPENED ONE THURSDAY

* * *

The art museums give incentives to spend Thursday evenings among their treasures: time and money. The Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, which closes at 5:30 p.m. the rest of the week, stays open until 8 p.m. and admits patrons for half-price after 5 p.m. on Thursdays. The Tampa Museum of Art lets patrons make a voluntary donation instead of paying admission from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays. The Gulf Coast Museum of Art in Largo, always free, extends its closing time from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. And the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg stays open until 9 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month.
