BILLS: QB Doug Flutie's injury status has been upgraded to questionable for Sunday's season opener against Tennessee. Coach Wade Phillips said Flutie might serve as third quarterback behind starter Rob Johnson and backup Alex Van Pelt, but a final decision may not be made until game time.
BRONCOS: LB Jamie Baisley was signed to the practice squad. He fills the fifth and final spot, joining S Darius Clark, RB KaRon Coleman, G Steve Herndon and CB Jason Suttle, all signed this week.
CHIEFS: It was the fifth straight day of 100-plus degrees but the team continued its practice schedule as if it was just another cool fall afternoon. Coach Gunther Cunningham is counting on the fact that his team has prepared for heat and that it will serve his players well against the Colts. "It was a little bit warm to say the least," Cunningham said, "but that's what we're probably going to play in. The projection is the high 90s for the weekend. We're looking forward to it."
COLTS: WR Joey Kent signed and DB Paul Miranda was waived. Kent played in 30 games the past three seasons with Tennessee. A former second-round pick of the Titans in 1997, Kent has 13 career catches for 159 yards and a touchdown.
JAGUARS: DE Eric Curry was placed on injured reserve and DE David Richie, who was waived Sunday in the final cuts, was re-signed. OT John Blick was released from the practice squad and DE Paul Spicer was added.
PATRIOTS: G Sale Isaia signed and OT Josh Rawlings was waived. The team also added defensive lineman Carl Bradley to the practice squad. Bradley, 22, played in three games for the Buccaneers this preseason and recorded three tackles. He signed with Tampa Bay on April 16 as a rookie free agent but was released Sunday.
TITANS: The team added depth to its secondary by signing CB Michael Booker. Selected 11th overall in 1997 by the Falcons, Booker saw his disappointing tenure with Atlanta end on Sunday when he was waived. He started 13 games last season and had two interceptions. Booker will be a backup to Samari Rolle and Denard Walker.
