When Jody Lee Fyfe was transferred to the Tampa office of a welfare-to-work program run by Goodwill Industries in April, behind him was a secret on his work computer that would spark a four-month investigation and lead to his arrest.

Fyfe, 42, 106 Ravenway Drive in Seffner, was charged Friday morning with 46 counts of computer pornography, a 1986 law that makes it a third-degree felony to use computers for receiving or soliciting child pornography.

According to an arrest report, Fyfe claimed his "sexual addiction" drove him to use his work computer in Dade City to download and view child pornography.

Pasco County sheriff's spokesman Jon Powers said deputies were first called to the Goodwill offices at 36739 State Road 52 in Dade City in April, when workers there were preparing Fyfe's computer for a new employee. During those preparations, they found pornographic images.

The discovery led to Fyfe's dismissal from Goodwill and started an investigation.

Detectives found both adult and child pornography on the computer, Powers said. Fyfe told investigators he downloaded the images last year between June and December.

When deputies learned that Fyfe lived in Hillsborough County and now worked there, agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement were called.

On Wednesday, detectives questioned Fyfe at his home, and according to his arrest report, he confessed to downloading the pornography for his "sexual addiction" and for his own "sexual pleasure."

On Friday, Fyfe was released from the Land O'Lakes jail on $70,000 bond.

Jerome Salatino, who oversees the Career Central program where Fyfe worked, said Fyfe worked as an assessor, running tests on people to see what their abilities were to help them get jobs.

He said it was the first time the office had dealt with computer pornography.

"And, hopefully, never will again," he said.
