Prison minister to celebrate Guardian Angel Healing Mass

A Guardian Angel Healing Mass will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, 10851 Ridge Road, Largo.

The celebrant will be the Rev. Jose Furtado, director of the office of prison ministry for the Diocese of St. Petersburg.

Mental health committee to meet at St. Jude

St. Jude's Mental Health Ministry of the Family Life Committee will hold its monthly meeting at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle's parish center, in the Neumann Room, 5815 Fifth Ave. N, at 7 p.m. Sept. 12.

The Rev. Richard Allen of St. Matthew's Catholic Church will speak. His topic will be "Made in the image and likeness of God: The psychological approach to stress management, confrontation and self-esteem."

B'nai Israel's youth programs start with round of parties

Congregation B'nai Israel of St. Petersburg's youth group programs are beginning another year. St. Pete Kadima, for grades 6 through 8, will hold its kickoff program from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 10 with a Hawaiian party and elections.

St. Pete Halutzim, for grades 3 through 5, will begin its year with a tie-dye program and pool party, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 10.

St. Pete USY, for grades 9 through 12, held its opening program and beach party Sunday. For information on the congregation's youth programs, call youth director Adam Brown, 381-4900.

Divorce support group begins fall sessions

A new series of DivorceCare support group sessions will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 12 at First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg, room 240-250, 1900 Gandy Blvd. N. The series will continue until Dec. 5. Call Dan, 540-9192 ext. 23, or Kathy, 580-6007, for information.
