The sixth annual On the Town calendar

Okay, On the Towners, fluff the furs, polish the jewels and dust off the tuxedo. Oh, and get out your checkbooks. About 150 events are listed in this year's On the Town Calendar, and by my count, if you attended most of them, you would spend a minimum of $5,000 for tickets. You won't save the world, but you will be helping to make our corner of it a little bit better. The parties and special events benefit dozens of arts organizations, social service agencies and medical facilities. Some are still being planned so details are missing. I will add them in my weekly column as they emerge. I will be at a lot of these parties and I want to see you there, too. And one more thing: Life's a banquet; save room for the creme brulee.
