Heche gets hitched

Actor Anne Heche has married a cameraman she met while working on a documentary about her ex-girlfriend Ellen DeGeneres.

Heche, 32, and Coleman Laffoon, 27, were married Saturday in Los Angeles in a ceremony attended by 75 friends and family members, publicist Brad Cafarelli said.

Heche and Laffoon met while working on a documentary about DeGeneres' return to stand-up comedy after the cancellation of Ellen, her ABC sitcom.

Heche and DeGeneres announced their separation in August 2000. They were together for more than three years.

'Jeepers' No. 1

The horror film Jeepers Creepers topped the box office with a record debut for a film opening over Labor Day weekend. The story of a sister and brother preyed upon by a bestial killer,Jeepers Creepers took in $15.8-million during the four-day weekend, according to studio estimates Monday. That topped the record of $9.8-million forThe Crow: City of Angels in 1996.

Bob Hope, 98, will remain in the hospital for at least a few more days as he recovers from pneumonia, his physician said Monday. . . . Actor Kate Winslet and her husband, Jim Threapleton, are separating. They married in 1998 and have a daughter, born last year. . . . Disappointed over the Latin Grammys' decision to move from Miami, Gloria Estefan and her husband, music producer Emilio Estefan, have decided not to attend the show in Los Angeles next week. The Estefans live in Miami.
