Defense was the name of the game in Wesley Chapel's 35-14 win over Lake Placid on Friday night, as safety Tyrone Tomlin returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown and nose guard Jason Boyd recorded six sacks.

With the Wildcats leading 21-14 in the third quarter, Tomlin picked off Dragons quarterback Ramadhani Brown's pass at the 1-yard line and returned it all the way for the clinching score as Wesley Chapel won the first opener in the school's three-year

history.

Teammate Greg Harrison added 44 yards and two touchdowns from his tailback position and Marcus Stewart contributed 40 as the Wildcats rolled up 249 yards against the Dragons

Lake Placid running back Matwain Bryant scored on a 73-yard run in the first quarter and Brown had a 3-yard touchdown run in the third.
