Focus on volunteers

Sojourn Bear, a volunteer organization based in Treasure Island, distributes handmade teddy bears to cancer patients throughout Tampa Bay. The group is in need of volunteers, either individuals or crafting circles, to cut, sew and stuff the gifts. The instructions and patterns are provided. There also is a need for office help, fund-raisers, project coordinators and grant writers. For information, call Jan Burlew at 481-9782.

The Florida Botanical Garden at the Pinellas County Cooperative Extension Service, 12175 125th St. N, Largo, needs volunteers to help with clerical duties. For information, call Jean Field at 582-2016.

The Pinellas Park Library, 7770 52nd St. N., has an outreach program that provides books to those who are homebound. Volunteers are needed for two to three hours each month to deliver books. For information, call Gary Bogart at 541-0719.
