Defying death and the laws of physics
The Musketeer looks like every other screen version of Alexandre Dumas' classic heroes except for a noticeable lack of gravity's force in 17th century France. Swashbuckling combines with physics-challenging martial arts stunts to make "All for one" a dazzling free-for-all. Justin Chambers stars as eager D'Artagnan, joining the Royal Musketeers in order to stop a coup led by Cardinal Richelieu (Stephen Rea) and Febre (Tim Roth). Mena Suvari co-stars as the obligatory love interest, and ever-lovely Catherine Deneuve claims her rightful place as queen of France. The Musketeer screened too late for Weekend review.
