Inquiry continues in discovery of body

Inquiry continues in discovery of body

CRYSTAL RIVER -- Circumstances surrounding the death of Kenneth R. Richardson remained unclear Wednesday, more than one week after the 59-year-old man's body was found near the boat ramp at Fort Island Gulf Beach. The Citrus County Sheriff's Office still has not released the cause of death, nor have investigators said whether they consider it a homicide or suicide. Richardson's body was found Aug. 27 in a shallow cove west of the ramp. His red Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was parked nearby. Richardson was a native of Paragon, Ind. and maintained a residence in Homosassa with his wife, Wanda. Two detectives from the major crimes unit continue tracking leads, sheriff's spokeswoman Ronda Hemminger Evan said. Most efforts have focused on finding a dark-haired man with a mustache who is thought to have spent time with Richardson in the days before his death. The man has not yet been identified, Evan said.
