Ex-Bogie star's future hinges on test score

Former Boca Ciega basketball star Tia Miller has enrolled at Auburn as a part-time, non-scholarship student in an effort to gain her eligibility this season, Auburn women's basketball sports information director Brian Miller said.

Miller, a 6-foot-2 forward who was a second-team Parade magazine All-America this past season despite missing most of her senior year with a knee injury, is retaking the ACT.

If she earns the requisite score, Miller will be placed on scholarship and be eligible to play in the 2000-2001 season.

If she does not, she will be admitted to Auburn as a partial qualifier and be eligible to play in 2001-2002. If she graduates in four years as a partial qualifier, she would earn back the lost season and be eligible to play as a fifth-year senior.
