Dupay's fate may come today

Florida athletics officials are expected to make an announcement today on the fate of point guard Teddy Dupay.

Television and radio stations in Jacksonville, Gainesville and Fort Myers reported Thursday athletic director Jeremy Foley will hold a news conference today to announce Dupay's status with the basketball team.

But Foley refused to confirm or deny those reports.

"When I'm ready to say something, I'll say something," Foley said. "When we're ready to talk, we'll talk. But right now, that's my only comment."

Coach Billy Donovan and assistants met with administrators Thursday to discuss Dupay's future.

Dupay, a Cape Coral native who was an honorable-mention All-American as a junior last season, has been linked to a university police department investigation into gambling, which has been ongoing since spring.

In May, UF said it was investigating possible gambling violations by an athlete. Dupay's mother, Pamela, said then that her son was the subject of the investigation, but said he had done nothing wrong.
