All games at 7:30 unless noted.

Tallahassee North Florida Chr. at CCC

LAST MEETING: None

THE SKINNY: The three-time Class A state champions pay the Marauders a visit. The Eagles hung with 4A Tallahassee Lincoln for a half last week before falling 35-19 while CCC put Sarasota Cardinal Mooney away early in a 30-12 win.

Pinellas Park at Tarpon Springs

LAST MEETING: Tarpon Springs 30, Pinellas Park 12 (2000)

THE SKINNY: The Spongers caught a break last week when Gibbs failed on a late fourth-and-inches gamble in its own end. No gifts should be necessary against the Patriots, who were pummeled by Dixie Hollins.

Northeast at Dixie Hollins

LAST MEETING: Dixie Hollins 27, Northeast 13 (2000)

THE SKINNY: A rivalry renewed. For the first time since the mid-1990s, the Vikings and Rebels meet in a meaningful game. The team that stops the run wins.

Jesuit at SPC

LAST MEETING: Jesuit 35, SPC 6 (2000)

THE SKINNY: The Barons bounced St. Augustine St. Joseph's 38-0 last week in a game called before halftime due to lightning. Their game at Jesuit last year could have been called after the Tigers scored 28 in the second quarter.

East Lake at Countryside

LAST MEETING: East Lake 35, Countryside 23 (2000)

THE SKINNY: The Eagles kicked off a four-game win streak in last year's matchup. A similar result is needed after fumbling away a possible win against Northeast.

Lakewood at Boca Ciega

LAST MEETING: Lakewood 25, Boca Ciega 3 (2000)

THE SKINNY: Were it not for special teams miscues, Lakewood might have knocked off Seminole. Boca Ciega, which committed four turnovers against Countryside, must take better care of the ball.

Dunedin at Clearwater

LAST MEETING: Clearwater 51, Dunedin 0 (1998)

THE SKINNY: Look-ahead alert! Clearwater faces Hillsborough next week. The Falcons would be happy to slip in under the Tornadoes' radar and steal the road win as they almost did at Osceola.

Gibbs at Osceola

LAST MEETING: Osceola 13, Gibbs 3 (2000)

THE SKINNY: The parts are here for a high-scoring game with the speedy Gibbs offense led by Ron Mathis and ground-eating Osceola offense led by Jason Teague. But last year, defense ruled in a Warriors upset.

Seminole at PHU

LAST MEETING: Seminole 19, PHU 0 (2000)

THE SKINNY: What are the chances Seminole can be held to single digits two weeks in a row? Not good, especially against a Hurricanes defense that gave up 225 yards rushing and 28 points to St. Petersburg.

Berkeley Prep at Shorecrest

LAST MEETING: Berkeley Prep 20, Shorecrest 0 (2000)

THE SKINNY: Embarrassing Department: Shorecrest's lone touchdown in a 35-6 drubbing at Fort Myers Evangelical came with 10 defenders on the field. Berkeley blew a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter. Will someone please step up?

Winter Park Trinity Prep at Northside Chr

LAST MEETING: Trinity Prep 38, Northside 0 (2000)

THE SKINNY: The Saints, 8-2 in 2A last year, whacked IRC 57-0 last week. Northside's 7-6 loss to Santa Fe Catholic last week was an improvement, but expect no further improvement here.

Daytona Beach Father Lopez at Keswick Chr

LAST MEETING: None

THE SKINNY: These teams should compare Fort Meade-inflicted wounds. Keswick lost 44-0 to the Miners last week, and Father Lopez lost 42-0 in the first round of the 2000 playoffs. Maybe in a twisted way, that makes this an even matchup.

Jacksonville Arlington Country Day at IRC

LAST MEETING: None

THE SKINNY: When Chris Ahleong took over at IRC, he promised morale would be better. Hopefully, the Golden Eagles have amnesia after last week's 57-0 loss to Trinity Prep. Arlington Country Day beat Orlando First Academy 21-14.

Winter Haven All Saints' Academy at Adm. Farragut

LAST MEETING: None.

THE SKINNY: Blowout alert: All Saints' flopped with a 54-6 loss to 2A Mulberry in its opener while Farragut beat Riverhills Chr. 31-14. Page: Farragut Putnam: Farragut Schwarb: Farragut
